Ingredients
- 1 French baguette, sliced
- 1 ½ pints milk
- 4 tabs sugar
- 2 sticks cinnamon
- sugar and cinnamon powder (for decoration)
- 2 eggs
- oil
Method
- Place the cinnamon sticks in the milk and heat. When it is warm, add the sugar and keep heating until boiling point.
- Boil for 5 minutes, stirring all the time.
- Turn off the heat and leave to cool for a couple of minutes. Dip the bread in the milk mixture and let them soak.
- Beat the eggs together and dip the bread slices in.
- Fry the slices in hot oil.
- Remove the fried slices to a piece of kitchen paper to dry off.
- Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon to serve.
