Steak With Pizzaiola Sauce

Ingredients

  • 300-350g beef steak
  • For the sauce:
  • 250g vine ripened tomatoes (chopped) or 400g can chopped tomatoes
  • 2-3 fat garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • pinch dried oregano or marjoram

Method

  1. Make the sauce. Place the chopped tomatoes in a pan with the garlic, oil, oregano/marjoram and season to taste. Bring to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring once or twice. Take off the heat, stir in the basil and set aside.
  2. Cook steak as prefer.
  3. Serve with warmed sauce.
