Smarties Cookies

Ingredients

  • 100g butter, softened
  • 100g light muscovado sugar
  • 1 tbsp golden syrup
  • 150g self-raising flour

Method

  1. Heat oven to 180ºC/fan 160ºC/gas 4.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together, then beat in the syrup.
  3. Stir in the flour and Smarties and work the dough together with your fingers.
  4. Divide into 14 balls. Place on a baking sheet, well apart to allow for spread. Don’t flatten them.
  5. Bake for 12 minutes until pale golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
